DESIGN BRIEF
Our client approached Faux Creation with a significant challenge: rectifying a poorly executed kitchen cabinetry re-colour. The previous decorator had failed to properly sand, clean, and de-grease the cabinets. Moreover, the applied acrylic egg shell paint was incompatible with the existing paint, leading to a substandard finish which rapidly decayed. Achieving a premium look with durability was paramount for the client, who desired a premium finish that would endure the demands of a busy kitchen environment.
our solution
Faux Creation implemented a meticulous approach to resolve the issues. We began by fully sanding the cabinetry, removing all existing paint and creating a smooth surface for the new application. All cabinets were thoroughly cleaned and de-greased to eliminate any residues that could interfere with paint adhesion.
We selected a specially formulated HV'Art lacquer paint system with a 15% sheen to match the client’s desired aesthetic. The correct primers were applied to ensure optimal adhesion and a uniform base for the topcoat. Multiple top coats were applied, each incorporating chemical and scratch-resistant hardener additives to enhance durability.
outcome
The meticulous preparation and application processes ensured the cabinetry not only met but exceeded the client's expectations. The 15% sheen HV'Art lacquer paint system provided a luxurious appearance. The use of chemical and scratch-resistant additives guaranteed the finish would withstand the rigors of a busy kitchen environment.
