DESIGN BRIEF
We were contacted by agents representing a private client who entrusted us with the restoration of their opulent super yacht, berthed in the picturesque dock of Vigo, Northern Spain. Our task was to ensure that the interior of this floating masterpiece matched the exacting standards set by its rejuvenated exterior. The interior surfaces bore the marks of time and use, necessitating diligent attention to detail and technical prowess to restore them to their former glory.
challenges
One of the primary challenges we faced was the restoration of the highly polished Venetian plaster adorning the cabins, master suite, and above-deck corridors. Over the years, these surfaces had incurred significant damage, requiring delicate restoration techniques to blend seamlessly with the original finishes. Additionally, the restoration of damaged crocodile skin leather demanded extensive expertise to repair and blend the material to achieve the correct pattern, colour, and sheen.
DETAIL
The main salon presented another hurdle with its exquisite gilded cabinetry, which had sustained damage over time. Our team embarked on a journey of trials and testing to devise innovative solutions to restore these intricate features to their former glory. To complete this luxurious restoration, lacquered surfaces throughout the yacht required careful polishing to revive their lustre and elegance.
The success of the project hinged upon careful planning, seamless logistics, and the timely execution of tasks to the highest standards of craftsmanship. As we departed the sun-drenched quayside upon completion of our work, supplies were being loaded in preparation for the yacht's voyage to winter in the Caribbean.
